K-제약바이오, 새해 ‘긍정’ 전망…우리기업 해외시장 진출 증가 기대

2025년 새해 글로벌 제약바이오 산업의 여러 변화가 전망되는 가운데, 우리 기업들은 비교적 긍정적인 평가를 한 것으로 조사됐다.

바이오협회의 회원사 대상 설문조사 결과에 따르면, 올해 국내 바이오 분야를 긍정적이라고 본 기업들이 58.6%로 부정적이라고 본 응답사(31%)보다 많은 것으로 나타났다. 

기업들은 해외시장 진출과 기술수출 증가 분위기를 긍정적으로 봤지만, R&D 투자와 정부 지원, 규제 개선 등은 부정적 견해가 많았다.

국내 바이오의약품 시장도 최근 5년간 연평균 18.4% 성장하며, 지난 2023년 전체 의약품 산업의 15.1%를 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 관련해 글로벌 바이오의약품 시장 대사질환 치료제 시장은 최근 5년간 연평균 13.1%의 성장률을 기록하고 있다.

이런 분위기에서 일단 국내 대기업들이 바이오 분야에 투자를 늘리고 있다.

HD현대는 최근 ‘AMC사이언스’를 설립했다. 아산병원 역량을 적극 활용, 신약 개발 분야 진출한다는 계획이다. LG그룹도 미래 먹거리로 바이오 사업을 지목, LG화학 중심으로 글로벌 신약 공급 파이프라인 확보하고 있다. 이와 함께 CJ와 롯데 등도 신약 개발과 CDMO에 투자를 늘리고 있다.

이런 상황에서 트럼프 2기 행정부가 추진할 통상 정책 등이 가장 큰 변화로 주목된다. 차기 미국 정부는 생물보안법 재추진을 비롯해 ▲IRA 약가협상 규정 개정 ▲바이오시밀러·제네릭 의약품 사용 ▲보편관세 적극 도입 등 헬스케어 정책 변화를 예고한 상태다.

또 항체약물접합체(ADC), RNA 치료제, 표적단백질분해제(TPD) 등 항체치료제와 세포-유전자치료제(CGT) 등 새로운 모달리티의 급격한 성장도 전망된다. 글로벌 ADC 시장은 오는 2028년 280억 달러 규모로 성장할 것으로 예상된다.
