삼성바이오에피스, 자가면역질환 치료제 ‘피즈치바’ 美 출시

삼성바이오에피스가 자가면역질환 치료제 스텔라라의 바이오시밀러 ‘피즈치바(성분명 우스테키누맙)’를 미국에 출시했다.

이로써 회사는 미국에서 5번째 제품을 출시하게 됐다. 피즈치바는 면역반응에 관련된 염증성 사이토카인의 한 종류인 인터루킨(IL)-12,23의 활성을 억제하는 기전을 가진 자가면역질환 치료제다.

스텔라라는 얀센이 개발한 판상 건선·건선성 관절염·크론병·궤양성 대장염 등의 자가면역질환 치료제다. 해당 제품은 글로벌 매출 규모는 약 15조원이며, 미국에서만 10조원 가량을 벌어들이고 있다.

린다 최 커머셜 본부장은 “피즈치바의 미국 출시로 자가면역질환 환자들에게 다양한 치료 기회를 제공할 수 있게 됐다”라며 “치료 옵션이 확대되면 의료비가 절감된다”라고 밝혔다.
