강동경희대병원, 로봇 친화형 스마트병원 전환 본격화

강동경희대학교병원이 국토교통부가 주관하고 국토교통과학기술진흥원이 지원하는 ‘2025년 스마트+ 빌딩 핵심기술 개발사업’의 로봇 친화형 스마트병원 실증기관으로 최종 선정됐다. 실증연구는 2026년부터 2028년까지 3년간 진행된다.

이번 사업은 총사업비 203억원 규모의 국가 대형 R&D 과제로, 경희대학교 건축공학과 황경은 교수가 연구책임자로 참여해 병원·건축·로봇 산업 간 협업 기반 기술 통합을 주도하게 된다. 강동경희대학교병원은 2026년부터 본격적인 실증연구에 착수한다.

사업은 로봇이 효율적으로 작동할 수 있는 최적의 건축 인프라를 구축하고, 이를 병원 및 공공시설에 적용해 실증하는 범부처 융합형 기술개발 프로젝트다. 병원 공간 내에서 로봇의 자율적 운영이 가능하도록 설계·시공·운영 기술을 통합하는 것이 핵심이다.

강동경희대학교병원은 이번 실증 과제에서 병원 본관을 대상으로 ▲자율주행 약품·검체 이송 로봇 ▲청소·방역 로봇 ▲안내 로봇 ▲폐기물 운반 로봇 등 총 6종의 로봇을 실제 병원 환경에 도입한다. 특히 병동의 좁은 복도, 환자와 보호자로 인한 혼잡, 엘리베이터 공유 등 다양한 물리적 제약 조건 속에서도 로봇이 원활히 작동할 수 있도록 공간 구조와 시스템을 최적화해 로봇 운영의 효율성과 안전성을 실제 환경에서 실증하게 된다.

강동경희대학교병원은 2023년 스마트병원 선도모델 개발 지원사업을 성공적으로 수행한 바 있으며, 이번 과제를 통해 병원 내 로봇 운영에 대한 기술적·제도적 모델을 제시하고 로봇 친화형 스마트병원으로 전환할 계획이다. 향후 로봇 친화형 스마트빌딩이 전국 의료기관 및 공공건축물로 확산하는데 주도적 역할을 할 것으로 기대하고 있다.

강동경희대학교병원 이우인 원장은 “이번 과제는 강동경희대학교병원이 지속 추진해온 디지털 헬스케어 혁신의 연장선”이라며 “과제를 통해 실제 임상 환경에서 로봇이 작동하는 국내 최초의 로봇 친화형 스마트병원 모델을 구현하게 될 것”이라며 의지를 밝혔다.
