컨텍, ISS 2025 공동 주최…K-뉴스페이스 글로벌 확장 본격화

우주 스타트업 컨텍 스페이스그룹은 대전컨벤션센터(DCC)에서 열리는 '국제 우주컨퍼런스(ISS 2025)'를 대전광역시와 공동 주최한다고 5일 밝혔다.

행사는 3~5일 '강화된 협력을 통한 우주 역량 강화'를 주제로 개최됐다. 국내외 40개국 430여개 기관 및 기업, 3천여 명 이상이 참석하는 국내 최대 규모 민·관 협력 기반 국제 우주 행사다.

전시부스 참여 기관 및 기업은 49개이고, 71개의 부스로 운영된다. 국내에서는 국방과학연구소, 법무법인 광장, XMW 등이, 해외에서는 비아샛(Viasat), KSAT, 카자흐스탄 파빌리온, 아이스아이(ICEYE), 사프란(SAFRAN) 등이 전시했다.

컨텍은 이번 행사에서 위성 데이터 수신·처리·활용 기술을 비롯해 ▲광통신 지상국(OGS) ▲양자암호화(QKD) 기반 통신 ▲AI 위성영상 분석 ▲우주상황인식(SSA) ▲초소형 군집위성 운영 등 다양한 우주 솔루션을 선보인다. 제주 아시안 스페이스 파크(ASP)에 구축 중인 OGS는 향후 차세대 위성 통신의 핵심 인프라로 주목받고 있다.

컨텍은 올해 상반기 호주에 첫 OGS를 구축한 데 이어, 하반기에는 제주도에 두 번째 광통신 지상국을 완공할 예정이다. 기존 RF 통신 대비 10배 이상 빠른 데이터 전송 속도와 높은 보안성을 제공하며, 양자암호화 기술과 결합해 차세대 우주 보안 통신망으로의 확장을 꾀하고 있다.

우주항공청과 국방과학연구소, 한화시스템, LIG넥스원, KAI 등은 세션 발표에 나선다. 주한 룩셈부르크 대사는 '우주법 및 정책' 세션 발표자로 참여해 글로벌 우주정책과 협력 방향을 제시한다. 미국 우주기업 스페이스 X도 참관한다.

이성희 컨텍 회장은 "ISS는 국내 우주기업과 인재들이 세계와 연결되는 플랫폼"이라며 "산·학·연·군·관·정이 함께하는 협력 생태계를 통해 대한민국이 글로벌 뉴스페이스 시장을 선도할 수 있도록 기여하겠다"고 밝혔다.
