올 여름 코로나19 유행 위험↑

올해 여름 코로나19 유행 가능성이 커지고 있어 고위험군의 예방접종 참여가 요구된다.

질병청에 따르면, 최근 동남아시아‧서태평양‧동지중해 등지에서 코로나19가 증가세를 기록하고 있다. 홍콩은 지난달 18일~24일 코로나19 양성이 846건을 기록했다. 이는 작년 여름의 796명보다 더 많은 것. 중국의 코로나19 양성률은 ▲3월 31일~4월 6일 7.5% ▲4월 28일~5월 4일 16.2% 등으로 증가했다.

국내 표본감시 입원 환자 수는 ▲19주 146명 ▲20주 100명 ▲21주 98명 ▲22주 105명 등이다. 질병청은 예년의 유행 양상을 고려해 여름철 유행 가능성이 있다고 보고 있다.

이에 따라 65세 이상 어르신과 생후 6개월 이상 면역저하자 및 감염취약시설 입원‧입소자 등 코로나19 고위험군의 예방접종 참여를 요청했다. 질병청은 2024-2025절기 코로나19 예방접종을 이달 30일까지 연장했다.

지영미 청장은 “인접 국가에서 코로나19가 증가하고 있고, 국내에서 여름철 유행이 가능한 상황”이라며 “국민이 일상에서 호흡기 감염병 예방 수칙을 준수하고, 지자체와 의료기관도 사전 대비를 통해 고위험군을 보호하고 코로나19 확산을 최소화할 필요가 있다”라고 밝혔다.

이어 “65세 이상과 감염취약시설 입소자 등 고위험군은 감염 및 중증·사망 예방에 가장 효과적인 수단인 코로나19 백신을 접종해달라”라고 당부했다.
