1~4월 非중국 전기차 판매 '폭스바겐' 1위…테슬라 제쳐

10일 시장조사업체 SNE리서치에 따르면 올해 1~4월 중국을 제외한 세계 각국에 차량 등록된 전기차 총 대수는 약 219만3천대로 전년 대비 21.3% 상승했다.

이 기간 그룹별 전기차 판매 대수를 살펴보면 폭스바겐 그룹이 전년 대비 71% 증가한 37만4천대 판매량을 기록해 테슬라를 제치고 1위에 올랐다. 폭스바겐 그룹의 주력 모델인ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, Q4 이트론, ENYAQ 등 MEB 플랫폼 탑재 차량들의 판매 호조가 성장을 이끌었다.

2위를 기록한 테슬라는 모델 3, Y 판매 감소로 전년 대비 20.1% 줄어든 25.9만 대를 기록했다.

현대차그룹은 전년 대비 11.4% 증가한 약 18만9천대를 판매하며 안정적인 성장세를 유지했다.

지역별로 살펴보면 유럽은 전년 대비 26.2% 성장하며 회복세를 나타냈다. 르노 R5, 스텔란티스 e-C3, 기아 EV3, 현대 캐스퍼 일렉트릭 등 신차 출시가 수요 회복을 견인하고 있다. 

북미 시장은 4% 성장에 그치며 중국 외 시장에서 점유율 25.4%를 차지했다. IRA의 세액 공제로 GM, 포드, 현대차그룹은 현지 생산 비중을 확대하는 반면 트럼프 행정부의 보조금 축소, 추가 관세 검토 등으로 정책 불확실성이 커지고 있다.

중국을 제외한 아시아 시장은 전년 대비 37.1% 성장했으나 각 국의 정책과 인프라 수준 차이로 확산 속도에 뚜렷한 격차를 보이고 있다. 

일본은 기존 하이브리드 중심 전략에서 벗어나 토요타, 렉서스의 BEV 신모델 출시로 전환 움직임을 보이고 있다. 인도는 2030년 전기차 비중 30% 목표를 설정하고 보조금 제도 정비 및 충전 인프라 확충에 나섰다. 동남아는 태국, 인도네시아가 EV 생산 허브로 부상하며 각 국 정부는 현지 공장 유치 및 세제 혜택 등의 지원책을 펼치고 있다.

SNE리서치 관계자는 "중국을 제외한 시장에서는 전기차 전환이 기술, 정책, 소비자 수용성 등 여러가지 이유로 조정되고 있으며, 각국은 자신만의 속도로 균형점을 찾아가고 있다"며 "전기차 시장은 이제 단순한 친환경 경쟁이 아닌, 지역 맞춤형 전환 전략과 지정학적 요인이 맞물린 복합 경쟁 국면에 들어섰다"고 분석했다.
