이재명 대통령이 주치의로 박상민 서울대병원 가정의학과 교수를 위촉하면서 박 교수에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다.

강유정 대통령실 대변인은 19일 서울 용산구 대통령실 청사에서 브리핑을 갖고 이같이 밝혔다. 참고로 대통령 주치의는 무보수 명예직이다. 활동비를 제외하면 급여가 없다.

박 교수는 서울과학고와 서울대의대를 졸업했다. 이후 서울대병원 가정의학과 과장, 건강증진센터장을 비롯해 병원 공공의료 빅데이터 융합연구사업단장을 맡고 있다. 또 서울대의대 건강시스템데이터사이언스랩의 책임 교수로도 재직 중이다.

대외적으로는 한국보건의료연구원 연구기획단장과 아태 세계 가정의학과 학술위원장 등으로 활동 중이다. ▲대한의학회 군시의학상 ▲젊은의학자상 ▲대한민국 의학 한림원 화이자의학상 등을 수상했다.

강 대변인은 “박상민 교수는 청년층‧고령층‧암 경험자‧복합 만성질환자를 위한 근거 중심의 생애 여정별 포괄적 의료 서비스를 개발해 제공하고 있다”라고 밝혔다.

한편, 역대 대통령 주치의는 서울대병원 내과 출신이 맡아왔다. 윤석열 전 대통령도 김주성 서울대의대 소화기내과 교수를 주치의로 임명한 바 있다.
