SYM헬스케어, ‘4DEYE DTx’ 식약처 확증임상시험계획 승인

AI 근골격계 디지털 치료제 개발기업 SYM헬스케어가 AI 기반 디지털 치료제 ‘4DEYE DTx’에 대한 확증임상시험계획을 승인받음에 따라 비대면 무릎 통증 치료 효과 입증에 나선다.

4DEYE DTx는 앱 기반의 비대면 방식으로 만성 무릎 통증 환자에게 맞춤형 재활운동을 제공하는 디지털 치료제다.

SYM헬스케어는 최근 식품의약품안전처로부터 디지털 치료제 ‘4DEYE DTx’에 대한 확증임상시험계획(IDE)을 승인받았다고 밝혔다.

특히 이번 승인이 탐색 임상시험 없이 곧바로 확증 임상시험으로 진행되는데, 이는 근골격계 디지털 치료제 시장에서는 이례적인 사례로, 4DEYE DTx의 혁신성과 잠재력을 식약처가 높이 평가한 결과로 회사는 평가하고 있다.

임상시험은 가천대학교 길병원 정형외과 이병훈 교수팀과 SYM헬스케어가 공동으로 주관하며, 2025년 6월부터 약 6개월간 진행된다. 시험 참여자는 전용 링크를 통해 회원가입한 뒤 의료진 승인을 거쳐 앱을 다운로드하고, 재활운동 프로그램을 수행하게 된다.

4DEYE DTx는 앱 기반의 비대면 맞춤형 재활 운동 솔루션으로, 데이터가 연계되는 검진 장비인 ‘Dx’가 관절 기능장애와 자세 불균형을 AI로 분석한 뒤, 사용자 맞춤형 운동 처방을 제공하는 디지털 치료제다. 이번 임상에서는 운동치료 대조군과의 비교해 치료 효과의 객관적 검증이 이뤄진다.

SYM헬스케어는 이번 임상을 통해 기존 검진기기인 ‘4DEYE Dx’와 연계한 디지털 헬스케어 모델의 실효성을 입증할 계획이다. 4DEYE Dx는 관절 기능장애를 감지하는 특허 기반 AI 기기로, 이미 상용화를 통해 진단 정확도와 시장성을 인증받은 바 있다.

회사 측은 이번 임상은 진단부터 치료까지 이어지는 통합 디지털 헬스케어 모델로서의 유효성을 검증하는 중요한 기회가 될 것으로 전망하고, 환자에게 더욱 편리하고 효과적인 의료서비스를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 헬스케어 시장에 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 제시할 것으로 기대했다.

이번 임상시험계획서는 서울바이오허브의 임상시험계획서 작성 지원사업을 기반으로 개발됐으며, 향후 보험 적용 및 해외 시장 진출을 위한 핵심 자료로 활용될 예정이다.

SYM헬스케어 관계자는 “이번 임상은 단순한 기술 검증을 넘어 B2B 공급 확대와 보험 연계, 글로벌 시장 진출 등 다양한 사업화 가능성을 가늠하는 전환점이 될 것”이라며 “AI 기반 디지털 치료제의 현장 적용을 통해 국내외 신뢰도를 높이겠다”고 말했다.
