브이스페이스, 전기 UAM 형식증명 나서

브이스페이스는 국내 최초로 전기추진 UAM 항공기에 대한 형식증명(TC)을 국토교통부에 신청했다고 26일 밝혔다.

이번 형식증명은 국토부, 국토교통과학기술진흥원(KAIA), UAM 국가전략기술사업단 주관 'UAM 항공기 시범인증 및 인증체계 개발' 일환으로 진행됐다.

해당 사업은 향후 국내 도심 항공교통을 상용화하기 위한 제도, 기술 기준, 인증체계 구축 등을 목적으로 추진 중이다.

형식증명은 항공기 설계가 기술 기준에 적합하다는 것을 국가 감항당국으로부터 인정받는 절차다. 절차는 평균 5년 이상 소요된다.

브이스페이스는 리프트·크루즈 방식 전기 수직이착륙 항공기(eVTOL) 'VS-300'을 개발하고 있다. 향후 지상시험과 비행시험, 기술심사 등을 거쳐 내년 인증 시제기를 공개할 계획이다.

브이스페이스 관계자는 "전기추진 기반 eVTOL 항공기가 본격적인 인증 단계에 들어간 것은 국내 최초"라며 "향후 국내외 기업 도심형 항공기 인증에도 기준이 될 것"이라고 전했다.

조범동 브이스페이스 의장은 "우리나라가 도심형 항공기를 포함한 미래 항공모빌리티 기술과 제도를 동시에 선점할 수 있는 중요한 첫걸음"이라며 "반드시 상용화를 성공시키고, 동시에 글로벌 항공 시장에서도 경쟁력을 갖추도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
