배드민턴 여제 안세영도 쓰게 된 '스프레이'…잔디서 추출한 '메이신'

한국원자력연구원은 연구소기업 바이오메이신(대표이사 최석규)이 개발하고, ㈜피랩(대표 이상윤)이 판매하는 ‘르피랩 피지컬 캄 스프레이’를 대한민국 배드민턴 국가대표팀에 공식 후원한다고 7일 밝혔다.

대한배드민턴협회 후원 협약식은 지난 5일 전북 익산에서 (주)피랩이 진행했다.

원자력연은 항염증 및 항산화, 피부질환, 당뇨 등 각종 질병 예방에 효과가 있는 메이신 성분과 관련, 총 18건의 특허를 보유했다.

메이신은 옥수수 수염에서만 극미량 분리 가능했으나, 원자력연이 세계 최초로 잔디 일종인 센티페드그라스에서 분리,정제하는데 성공했다. 일시적인 혈액순환 개선 및 붓기완화 등에 효과적인 것으로 알려졌다.

이 특허를 기반으로 바이오메이신이라는 헬스케어 제품 개발 연구소 기업이 만들어졌다. ㈜피랩은 바이오메이신과 협력을 진행 중인 원자력연 패밀리기업이다.

대한배드민턴협회에 후원할 제품은 ‘르피랩 피지컬 캄 스프레이'다. 피랩의 프리미엄 브랜드인 르피랩(Le P:LAB) 첫 제품이다.

(주)피랩은 향후 배드민턴 국가대표팀에 이 스프레이를 사용하도록 공급할 예정이다. 또 르피랩 브랜드는 대표팀 유니폼을 통해 홍보할 예정이다.

메이신 연구를 주도한 정병엽 첨단방사선연구소장은 “실생활에 도움이 될 수 있는 대체 불가한 방사선 기술 개발에 최선을 다할 것"이라고 말했다.
