제22회 전문간호사 자격 1차 시험 576명 응시

고령화, 감염병 대응, 만성질환 관리 등으로 복잡해진 보건의료 환경 속에서 전문간호사의 역할은 갈수록 중요해지며 자격시험 응시자도 매년 늘고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

대한간호협회는 지난 5일 서울 중구 다산로에 위치한 성동공업고등학교에서 2025년도 제22회 전문간호사 자격 1차 시험을 실시했다.

간호협회는 ‘전문간호사 자격인정 등에 관한 규칙’ 제8조제2항에 따라 복지부장관이 지정한 자격시험 관리기관이다. 시험은 고도의 전문성과 실무 역량을 갖춘 간호 인력을 양성하기 위해 매년 간호협회 간호연수교육원에서 시행하고 있다. 시험은 1차와 2차를 거쳐 최종합격자를 선발하는 방식이다.

올해 1차 시험에는 총 576명의 간호사가 응시했는데, 2023년 533명, 2024년 565명에 비해 증가해 전문간호사에 대한 관심과 수요가 꾸준히 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

이번 시험은 총 11개 전문분야에서 실시됐으며, 분야별 응시 인원은 ▲노인간호 137명 ▲감염관리 79명 ▲종양간호 79명 ▲중환자간호 61명 ▲가정간호 51명 ▲임상전문간호 40명 ▲호스피스간호 41명 ▲정신간호 36명 ▲응급간호 21명 ▲산업간호 12명 ▲아동간호 9명 등이다.

특히 노인간호, 감염관리, 종양간호 등 고령화와 만성질환, 감염병 대응에 직결되는 분야에 높은 지원이 몰리며 현장의 수요와 간호사들의 진로 관심이 반영됐다는 분석이다.

우리나라의 전문간호사 제도는 2000년 1월 의료법 개정으로 보건·마취·정신·가정 등 4개 분야별 간호사 명칭이 ‘전문간호사’로 변경되며 시작됐으며, 이후 감염관리, 산업, 응급, 노인, 중환자, 호스피스, 종양, 임상, 아동 분야가 신설돼 현재 총 13개 자격 분야가 운영되고 있다. 다만 마취와 보건 분야는 오랜기간 관련 대학원 교육과정이 개설되지 못해 전문간호사 자격시험 응시자 배출이 사실상 중단된 상태다.

전문간호사 자격시험은 단순히 실무 경험만으로는 응시할 수 없고, 복지부가 고시한 각 분야의 교육과정이 포함된 석사학위를 이수해야만 응시 자격이 주어진다.

간호협회 관계자는 “전문간호사는 현장의 빠른 변화에 유연하게 대응할 수 있는 보건의료 핵심 인력”이라며 “앞으로도 우수 인재를 선발하고 이들이 전문성을 발휘할 수 있도록 교육과 제도 개선에 더욱 힘쓸 것”이라고 강조했다.

한편 1차 시험 합격자는 오는 7월25일 발표되며, 2차 시험은 8월24일 시행된다. 최종 합격자는 9월19일 발표될 예정이다.
