인텔리안테크, 원웹 저궤도통신 단말 적합성 평가 승인 받았다

인텔리안테크가 국립전파연구원으로부터 유텔샛원웹 저궤도 위성통신 사용자 단말에 대한 적합성 평가를 최종 승인받았다고 18일 밝혔다.

승인받은 모델은 OW11Fx와 OW10Hx 두 종류다.

저궤도 위성통신은 기존 정지궤도 위성통신 대비 낮은 지연시간과 빠른 데이터 전송 속도를 강점으로 해상, 항공, 재난망, 국방 등 광범위한 분야에서 높은 활용 가치를 가진다.

유텔샛원웹은 글로벌 저궤도 위성통신 시장의 선두 주자 중 하나로, 인텔리안테크 단말 승인을 통해 국내에서도 안정적이고 고속의 위성통신 서비스를 제공할 기반을 마련하게 됐다.

특히 인텔리안테크의 단말 적합성 평가 승인은 국내 저궤도 위성통신 서비스의 확산에 더욱 속도를 붙일 전망이다. 유텔샛원웹과 국경간 공급 승인을 받은 KT SAT과 승인을 진행 중인 SK텔링크가 유텔샛 원웹과 협력해 해상용 서비스와 국내 통신 음영 지역에 대한 민간 영역의 서비스 확대를 추진할 예정이다.

아울러 국방과 공공 영역에서도 인텔리안테크 단말기 승인에 따라 실질적인 현장 적용과 성능 검증이 가능해지면서 저궤도 위성통신 테스트와 개발 속도가 더욱 빨라질 것으로 예상된다.
